RAM - 1500 2500/3500 CHASSIS CAB DAKOTA |
|---|
The 2010 Ram 1500 is the rich harvest of a four-year deep-dive into what a truck should be, and what a truck has never been. Every line, curve and plane is the result of an exhaustive campaign to rethink and out-class every truck out there. Ram design features:
Best-in-class aerodynamics
Class-exclusive integrated dual exhaust
Bold hood bulge
Wraparound full chrome bumpers
Aggressive forward-leaning grille
Six-passenger crew cab...Yeah, we built more than a new truck here. We built a case for full-blown truck envy.
Slide into the high bolstered, broad shouldered driver's seat and shut the triple-sealed door. Now take a moment to let it all sink in.
Some call it pushing the envelope of truck interiors. We call it giving you exactly what you want.
All that wind tunnel analysis helped carve best-in-class aerodynamics. Ram's mirrors alone represent an entire chapter of exhaustive aerodynamic research and testing. The bold hood bulge ends in a cowling at the windshield, covering the wipers and protecting them from drag.
Windshield side moldings channel rainwater onto the roof instead of side windows where it can interfere with visibility. The shape of the leading edge of the windshield frame was fine-tuned to minimize wind noise. We even tuned the tailgate for improved aerodynamics. Joints were made sound, seals tight, and airflow resourceful — all contributing to one of the most efficient noise, vibration and harshness control systems ever built.
The 2010 Ram is bred for strength and intelligence to keep your payload on the right road. Towing and cargo hauling are first nature with the help of sophisticated and tested Ram technology:
Whatever your towing and payload challenge, Ram is built to conquer it.
It's no surprise that Ram 1500 has a smoother ride than Chevy, Ford or Toyota. We replaced the leaf springs with class-exclusive multi-link coil suspension for increased ride quality, comfort and better handling without sacrificing payload capacity. What you don't get is rear-end "hop" when driving on the highway.
Simply put, Ram is a flat-out better ride from front to back.
Life isn't always a smooth road. But Ram's legendary off-road capability makes it a nonissue. Selecting 4x4 is as easy as pushing a button. The 4-HI setting locks both drive shafts for extra grip and pulling power to give you confident handling on slippery, wet and graveled terrain. For the meanest grounds out there, the 4-LO position delivers a 2.72:1 gear reduction ratio for stump ripping, mountain climbing grip and power. The multi-link coil suspension provides outstanding rear suspension articulation so you can go off-roading where you want, when you want, without worrying about getting hung up or bottoming out.
We left nothing to chance when it came to building the Ram 1500. We studied every step, process and material and optimized it with rigorous quality standards to deliver the finest truck ever built. A look at the books shows 40,000 intense hours of vehicle system testing. That's a lot of testing. In fact, if you log all the miles traveled throughout the quality process, the total comes to nine million customer-equivalent miles of durability testing. Little wonder every single person involved with its manufacture shares enormous personal and professional pride

Ram 2500 and 3500 are built with sturdy hydroformed frames (the stiffest in Dodge Ram history) and capable four-wheel drive options to handle the toughest jobsite terrain. To smooth out the ride, new fluid-filled hydromounts on the cab reduce the amount of shake you feel. Other handling features include:
Whether hauling your boat to the lake or taking dry wall out to the job, you don't do it half way. And you don't want your truck to either. You want the best. Deserve the best. Let us introduce you to the best. And we're not the only ones saying it. The All-New 2010 Ram Heavy-Duty was just named Motor Trend's 2010 Truck of the Year®.
Ram is the longest-lasting and most durable line of full-size pickups. They're designed to maximize vehicle uptime for more hours on the job. On all Ram trucks, multiple systems were subjected to the most punishing environments and terrain on the planet before they get to your driveway.
We put Ram through grueling trials that range from 120°F deserts to -20°F arctic climates. You can name the challenge from towing in the mountains to running for a week without stopping.
Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine-equipped Rams have long oil change intervals of 7,500 miles, and all Heavy Duty models feature durable, corrosion-protected hydroformed frames. So rest assured - Ram is ready to work for you for years to come.
Ram Heavy Duty trucks with the Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine are the only trucks in their class with a standard integrated diesel exhaust brake. It prolongs brake life, reduces brake fade, and provides stopping safety and confidence when hauling heavy loads on downhill grades.
The diesel exhaust brake slows your truck down without using your wheel brakes. Instead, exhaust gasses that would normally flow through the turbocharger are kept in the engine after the turbo's exhaust inlet closes. This builds exhaust backpressure, which slows the engine and therefore the drivetrain.
Superior brake pad surface area, brake piston and caliper size means longer intervals between brake jobs for less time and money spent in the shop.

A truck as big and powerful as Ram needs large brakes. Superior brake pad surface area, brake piston and caliper size contribute to stopping power and your peace of mind, and mean longer intervals between brake jobs.
The available integrated trailer brake controller allows you to automatically or manually activate the electronic brakes on properly equipped trailers for greater stopping power on downhill grades.
A segment-exclusive standard integrated exhaust brake prolongs brake life, reduces brake fade, and provides stopping safety and confidence when hauling heavy loads on downhill grades.

Being protected on the way to work is just as important as jobsite safety. In fact, the All-New 2010 Ram HD has 25 safety and security features. Front and side airbags offer impact protection, while crumple zones and side-impact door beams provide structural safety. Here's a glance at our safety checklist:
The ParkView® rear back up camera allows you to see an image of what's behind your truck on the Uconnect™ System, whenever the transmission is put in reverse. The camera is located next to the tailgate handle on the rear of the vehicle.

Dodge Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab models are available in four-door Quad Cab® or two-door regular cab configurations. Decide if your priority is seating capacity or cab-to-axle length, then choose which cab works best for you.
Four-door Quad Cab® features:
The two-door regular cab Dodge Ram workhorse offers a longer cab-to-axle length of up to 120 inches, for greater upfit flexibility, along with the power and cargo capability you expect from all Dodge Ram trucks.

Cummins®. It's a legend among diesels, tough-as-nails and willing to work overtime. Cummins power is efficient and reliable. It’s the only diesel that meets more stringent ARB state emission standards. This allows Chassis Cabs to idle indefinitely at a job site so you can use their HVAC and electrical features.
6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine specs:
All that Cummins® power would be lost if it weren’t for Dodge Ram Chassis Cab’s workhorse transmissions.
Both transmissions have plenty of gears to deliver efficient power to pull your load wherever the job drives you. Speaking of pulling ahead, the six-speed manual offered in 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs has a lower first gear ratio than Ford or GM conventional chassis cab models.
Dodge Ram Chassis Cabs are built with burden-bearing suspension and serious braking power. Wide-mounted front suspension design improves handling under heavy loads and provides higher ground clearance so you can handle rough terrain.
For greater driving confidence, an available class-exclusive, integrated exhaust brake reduces brake fade, prolongs brake life, and provides stopping safety and confidence when hauling heavy loads on downhill grades. If that’s not enough, Dodge Ram 5500 Chassis Cab features best-in-class brake wear - lasting over three times as long as Ford F-550’s brakes.
Suspension and braking features include:
Dodge Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs are designed, engineered, tested and built to meet the higher performance standards of commercial truck buyers. Their impressive Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) provide brute-scale towing and payload capacity. For example, the Dodge Ram 3500 Regular Chassis Cab with the single-rear-wheel axle offers a best-in-class 10,200-pound GVWR and 5500 weighs in at up to 19,500 GVWR. Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs have more diesel Regular and Quad Cab models for heavier loads than Ford F-450 and F-550 plus they feature best-in-class standard tow hooks.
